Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has expressed hope that the club's failure to reach the UEFA Champions League group stage will not derail their transfer activity ahead of the window closing next week.

Tuesday's 5-1 defeat to LASK after extra time ended Celtic's Champions League campaign at the play-off round, with the Austrian club advancing 5-4 on aggregate. The Scottish Premiership holders will instead compete in the UEFA Europa League this season.

Transfer concerns

Celtic have completed four signings during the current window — Kasper Hogh, Camilo Duran, Haissem Hassan, and Mika Baur — yet the departures of Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels, who joined Ipswich Town and West Ham United respectively, have left gaps in the squad.
