Raphael Onyedika is on the verge of completing a permanent transfer to Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt, with negotiations between the German club and Belgian champions Club Brugge entering their final phase.

According to German publication Kicker, both clubs are moving toward an agreement that could be wrapped up as early as next week. Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly prepared to pay €9 million to land the Nigerian defensive midfielder.

This deal would end a protracted pursuit — Frankfurt have made two previous bids for Onyedika, both of which fell short. The 25-year-old has clearly remained high on their list of targets throughout that period.

Onyedika's stock rose sharply during last season's UEFA Champions League, when he scored against Eintracht Frankfurt in Club Brugge's victory over the German side — a result that underlined his quality on the continental stage.

His time in Belgium has been decorated with silverware. Since arriving at Club Brugge, Onyedika has been part of squads that claimed two Belgian Pro League titles, one Belgian Cup, and one Belgian Super Cup, establishing him as one of the standout midfielders in the Belgian Pro League.

The proposed move would see Onyedika take his talents to one of Europe's most competitive leagues, where he would become one of the Nigerian internationals to watch in the Bundesliga.
