Peter Olayinka Seals Permanent Move to Saudi Arabia's Al Wehda

Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has completed a permanent transfer to Saudi Arabian side Al Wehda, arriving on a free transfer after leaving Cypriot club APOEL Nicosia.
The 30-year-old managed two goals in 14 league outings during his time at APOEL, a stint that proved to be the latest stop in a well-travelled career spanning Czechia, Serbia, Cyprus, and Belgium.
A trophy-laden career in Europe
Olayinka carved out the most decorated chapter of his career at Czech First League club Slavia Prague, where he lifted three league titles and three Czech Cups — a haul that established him as one of the more accomplished African forwards in Central European football.
He followed that success with a move to Serbian powerhouse Red Star Belgrade, helping the club claim the domestic double on two occasions before later terminating his contract with the Belgrade outfit.
The versatile attacker now heads to Saudi Arabia, where Al Wehda — known as the Red Giants — will be hoping his experience across multiple European leagues translates into goals in the Saudi Pro League.
Super Eagles recognition
Olayinka's form at club level earned him a place in the Nigeria Super Eagles squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon, underlining his standing as one of the country's attacking options during that period.
