Jordan Pickford has entered an exclusive group, becoming only the 19th goalkeeper in Premier League history to register 100 or more clean sheets in the competition. The Everton stopper achieved the milestone during a goalless draw away at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

A century of shutouts

Pickford is the latest addition to one of English football's most prestigious statistical clubs. He follows Liverpool's Alisson, who secured his 100th Premier League clean sheet during a 0-0 stalemate against Leeds United on 1 January 2026, as the most recent goalkeeper to reach the landmark before the Everton man.

The all-time record remains firmly in the hands of former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech, who accumulated an extraordinary 202 Premier League clean sheets across his career — a tally that dwarfs his closest rival, David James, by 33. Cech also holds the record for the highest percentage of clean sheets per games played at 45.7 percent, the most consecutive clean sheets with 14 — a mark held jointly with Edwin van der Sar — and was the fastest goalkeeper to reach 100 shut-outs, achieving the feat in just 180 appearances.

The first goalkeeper ever to register 100 Premier League clean sheets was Peter Schmeichel, who reached the milestone back in 1998.

Who's next in line?

Newcastle United's Nick Pope is the closest active goalkeeper to joining Pickford in the century club, currently sitting on 80 Premier League clean sheets. However, Pope has not featured for Newcastle this season after losing his place in the starting lineup to Lukas Hornicek.

Former West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski narrowly missed out on the landmark, retiring with 92 clean sheets after spending the entire 2025-26 campaign on the sidelines through injury.
