PSG Lead Race for Ivory Coast Winger Diomande as Liverpool Step Back

Paris Saint-Germain are in advanced talks with RB Leipzig over the signing of Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, with the teenager understood to have expressed a clear preference for the French and European champions over Liverpool.
Liverpool had been prepared to spend £86 million to secure Diomande's services, but RB Leipzig are holding out for a figure well above that threshold. The Premier League club have shown no appetite to exceed their valuation, which has effectively opened the door for PSG to move to the front of the queue.
Contract already agreed
PSG have already reached a personal agreement with Diomande on a contract running until 2031, according to Sky Sports News. However, the deal cannot be completed until the two clubs settle on a transfer fee, with negotiations between PSG and Leipzig still ongoing.
Manchester City are also keeping a close eye on the situation, though it is PSG who appear best placed to land the winger given Diomande's stated preference.
For the move to go ahead, a club-to-club agreement must be reached with Leipzig regardless of what the player wants — meaning PSG still have work to do before they can call the deal done.
