Paris Saint-Germain have been handed an additional dressing room for Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup after voicing dissatisfaction with their original facilities at Red Bull Arena in Salzburg, Austria.

The Champions League holders arrived to find themselves assigned to the away dressing room at Red Bull Salzburg's home ground, while Europa League winners Aston Villa occupied the home changing area. PSG officials raised their concerns with UEFA at a pre-match meeting on Monday, arguing the allocated space was too small for their squad's needs.

PSG demand equal footing

Sources told BBC Sport that the French club felt entitled to comparable facilities — particularly given their status as reigning Super Cup champions, a title they claimed by defeating Tottenham Hotspur on penalties last year.

UEFA responded by allocating PSG a spare dressing room ordinarily reserved for match officials, bringing their total space in line with Villa's. Crucially, no officials were displaced to accommodate Luis Enrique's side.

A formidable squad makes the trip

PSG have travelled to Austria with a 20-man squad that includes Liverpool target Bradley Barcola, midfielder Vitinha, and left-back Lucas Digne — who completed his move from Aston Villa as recently as Sunday.

Luis Enrique's men go into the fixture having successfully defended their Champions League crown following their victory over Arsenal in May's final. Wednesday's contest represents a major occasion for the opposition too: Aston Villa are appearing in their first Super Cup since 1982.
