Kenneth Boardman, a living legend of Rangers International FC, has sent a heartfelt message of congratulation to the club after the Flying Antelopes secured their ninth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title — drawing level with Enyimba as the most decorated side in the competition's history.
A title race decided on the final day
Rangers clinched the 2025/2026 NPFL crown on May 24, 2026, finishing the season with 68 points — just one point ahead of second-placed Rivers United. The Enugu club sealed the title with a 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City in Lagos on the final matchday, leaving nothing to chance in a breathless run-in.
The ninth championship draws Rangers level with Oriental rivals Enyimba, making the two clubs the joint-most successful sides in NPFL history.
Boardman's message from the United States
Boardman, who now lives in the United States and was a contemporary of the late Christian Chukwu during his playing days at Rangers, described the club's latest triumph as a reflection of its enduring greatness.
