Eintracht Frankfurt have secured the services of Nigerian international midfielder Raphael Onyedika, who arrives from Club Brugge on a deal running until June 2031.
The Bundesliga club confirmed the transfer on their official website on Sunday, revealing that Onyedika will wear the number 25 shirt at his new home.
A trophy-laden career
The 26-year-old brings an impressive résumé to Frankfurt. During four years in Belgium, he claimed two Belgian league titles with Club Brugge, along with the Belgian Cup and Super Cup. Prior to his time in Belgium, he won the Danish Cup with FC Midtjylland.
Across his four seasons at Club Brugge, Onyedika was a model of consistency and availability, making 40, 49, 52, and 42 appearances in each respective campaign. In total, he has accumulated 268 competitive appearances at senior level, including 24 in the UEFA Champions League over the past three seasons.
Nigeria's dependable enforcer
Standing 1.84 metres tall, Onyedika is a defensive midfielder who has earned 26 caps for Nigeria's senior national team. His international appearances include a showing at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, underlining his importance to the Super Eagles setup.
Debut on the horizon
Onyedika could make his Frankfurt bow in the DFB Cup, where the club face fifth-tier opponents St. Tönis in the first round on 21 August. Their Bundesliga campaign then opens on 29 August with an away trip to Union Berlin.
