Barcelona dismantled Aston Villa 3-0 at the Camp Nou, with Raphinha's two second-half goals proving the difference as Unai Emery's side suffered their first Champions League defeat after three consecutive victories.

The Brazilian winger was the standout performer on the night, netting a brace that put the contest firmly beyond Aston Villa's reach and underlined Barcelona's dominance across the 90 minutes.

Villa had arrived in Catalonia riding a wave of momentum, having won their previous three matches in the UEFA Champions League. But Emery's men were unable to maintain that run against a Barcelona side that controlled the game from the first whistle.

The result cements Barcelona's position as one of the most formidable teams in this season's UEFA Champions League, with Raphinha continuing his impressive form and establishing himself as a decisive figure in manager Hansi Flick's plans.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, will need to regroup quickly as they look to recover from a chastening evening in Spain and protect their standing in the competition.
