Madrid withstand a late Inter scare

Haaland brace sinks Porto

At the Estadio do Dragao in Porto, Erling Haaland was ruthless in front of goal as Manchester City swept aside FC Porto with a pair of clinical finishes.

The Norwegian striker opened the scoring in the 47th minute with a header from a cross by summer signing Enzo Fernández. Haaland then put the game beyond doubt in the 91st minute, converting from a corner to seal a commanding away win for City.

The victories give both Madrid and Manchester City strong early momentum in the UEFA Champions League group stage, setting the tone for what promises to be another compelling European campaign.
