Nigeria international Umar Sadiq featured for Valencia on Saturday evening as José Mourinho's Real Madrid side handed them a commanding 3-0 defeat in La Liga at Mestalla.

It was Sadiq's fifth appearance of the season for Valencia. The striker, who has contributed two goals in the campaign so far, led the line for 59 minutes before being withdrawn in favour of Dani Gómez.

Valverde opens the scoring

Real Madrid made their intentions clear from the outset and broke the deadlock in the 28th minute. After a Kylian Mbappé free-kick bounced back off the wall, captain Federico Valverde reacted fastest, drilling a low, precise effort into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

Güler doubles the advantage

Los Blancos did not wait long to extend their lead. Eight minutes later, Jude Bellingham drove to the byline and cut back a ball that deflected off a Valencia defender, landing perfectly for Arda Güler to volley home from close range.

Mbappé seals the rout

Valencia had no answer after the break. With 15 minutes remaining, Güler turned architect — slipping a clever through ball to Mbappé, who rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home to register his 13th La Liga goal of the season and confirm a comprehensive victory for Real Madrid.

The result leaves Valencia in a difficult position domestically, while Real Madrid continue to press their title credentials.
