Saka Joins England Training Ahead of Ghana World Cup Clash

2 hours ago·1 min

Bukayo Saka has taken part in full training with England, lifting the mood in Thomas Tuchel's camp before Tuesday's FIFA World Cup 2026 group-stage meeting with Ghana in Boston.

The Arsenal winger missed a portion of Saturday's session, completing only individual work rather than joining the main group. However, he was present for normal team training on Sunday — England's penultimate session ahead of the fixture.

Managing the Achilles issue

Saka has been carrying an Achilles tendinitis problem for some time, and manager Thomas Tuchel named him among the substitutes for England's opening 4-2 victory over Croatia.

Tuchel has been clear that Saka is unlikely to be available to start before England's third group game against Panama, suggesting the winger remains on a carefully managed programme.

The 24-year-old's condition has been a source of quiet concern at Arsenal over recent months. Nevertheless, the club considered him sufficiently fit to feature regularly throughout their title run-in — a campaign that ended with Arsenal claiming their first Premier League title in 22 years.

Significantly, it is understood the Achilles problem has not worsened since the domestic season concluded, offering genuine encouragement to both Tuchel and the player himself as the tournament progresses.
