Kevin Schade scored twice as Brentford came from behind on two occasions to claim a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium, leaving head coach Marco Rose still searching for his first Premier League victory.

Schade opened the scoring with a headed goal in the 34th minute after Yarmoliuk dug out a cross following a Bournemouth defensive lapse. Justin Kluivert equalised four minutes before the break, improvising to fire home after Evanilson had bundled into the box.

Tavernier puts Bournemouth ahead

Marcus Tavernier, registering his third goal of the season, drilled Bournemouth back in front eight minutes after the interval to give Rose a glimpse of that elusive first win. It looked as though the hosts might finally hold on — but it was not to be.

Goalkeeper Dorde Petrovic produced a costly error just three minutes later, surrendering possession directly to Schade, who wasted no time in converting to make it 2-2 and extinguish Bournemouth's hopes.

A worrying pattern for Bournemouth

The result extended a troubling streak for Bournemouth, who have now led in all four of their Premier League matches this season without converting any of those advantages into wins. They had already made history as only the second side to lead in each of their opening three Premier League games without winning — after Chelsea in 1992/93.

The hosts have also dropped more points from winning positions than any other Premier League side since the start of last season, a run that includes squandering a two-goal lead against Newcastle last weekend.

Brentford's unbeaten run rolls on

For Brentford, the draw kept their unbeaten start to the season intact under interim head coach Keith Andrews, though they have now failed to hold winning positions in three successive league matches. The Bees also stretched their unbeaten league run against Bournemouth to 12 games, having last suffered defeat in this fixture back in August 2014.

Both sides will feel a sense of frustration — Bournemouth for another opportunity let slip, Brentford for once again failing to see out a lead. The search for consistency continues on both fronts.
