Scottish Clubs Set to Discover European Qualifying Draw Opponents

18 hours ago·1 min

Four Scottish clubs — Hearts, Rangers, Motherwell, and Hibernian — will discover their potential European qualifying opponents on Monday when the draws for the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League third qualifying rounds are made.

Hearts and the Champions League path

Hearts are currently navigating the Champions League third qualifying round against Sturm Graz. Should they overcome the Austrian side, their possible opponents from the next round would be Olimpiacos, Lyon, Bodo/Glimt, or the winner of Fenerbahce versus Gornik Zabrze.

If Hearts fall to Sturm Graz, they drop into the Europa League, where the Tynecastle club would face the winner of either St Gallen versus Benfica, Twente versus Ferencvaros, or Qarabag versus CSKA Sofia.

Rangers seeded in the Europa League

Rangers enter the Europa League third qualifying round as seeded participants. Their potential opponents are the winners from ties involving Hammarby versus Anderlecht, Hajduk Split versus Pafos, Tromso versus Hradec Kralove, or Jagellonia Bialystok.

Motherwell and Hibernian in the Conference League

Motherwell face Faroese side HB in the Conference League, and the winners of that tie could meet LNZ Cherkasy versus Gent, Besiktas versus FC Midtjylland, HJK Helsinki versus Coleraine, Twente versus Ferencvaros, or RFS versus Vestri in the next round.

Hibernian, meanwhile, are set to face Kosovo's FK Malisheva. If Hibs progress, they could encounter the winners from ties between NK Bravo and KF Shkendija, FC Santa Coloma and SK Rapid, Rakow and Valetta, NK Rijeka and Derry City, or FC Polissya and FC Copenhagen.
