Sevilla Close in on Scottish Striker Ure in £7.9m Deal

Sevilla are on the verge of completing the signing of Scotland Under-21 forward Robbie Ure from Swedish side IK Sirius in a deal worth £7.9 million.

The 22-year-old striker is scheduled to undergo a medical at the Andalusian club on Monday before putting pen to paper on a five-year contract. Sevilla have handed him the opportunity to lead the attack at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

Ure has attracted considerable interest from clubs across Europe this season, having contributed 20 goals and three assists in 20 appearances across all competitions — a return that speaks to his rapid rise.

A career that ignited in Sweden

Ure began his professional journey at Rangers, where he registered one goal in three outings. He then moved to Belgian giants Anderlecht in 2023, but managed only a single senior appearance before his time there stalled.

Sweden proved to be the turning point. Since joining IK Sirius roughly a year ago, Ure has racked up 31 goals and seven assists across 50 matches, transforming himself into one of the most exciting young forwards in Scandinavia.

His 15 league goals this season have been instrumental in driving Sirius to the summit of the Allsvenskan, where they hold a commanding 13-point lead at the halfway stage of the campaign.

International allegiance still undecided

Ure, who has represented Scotland at Under-19 level, has not yet committed to a senior national team. He is also eligible to represent Ukraine. However, speaking to BBC Scotland last month, Ure made his preference clear — he is holding out for a call-up to the Tartan Army.
