Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has publicly backed Ademola Lookman, urging the Nigerian forward to stay patient and trust in his own abilities despite a difficult run of form this season.

Lookman has found it hard to match the impact he made following his arrival at Atletico Madrid last season. His minutes on the pitch have also dwindled in recent weeks, with the 28-year-old managing just 14 minutes of action in his side's 2-0 win over Levante last Saturday.

Simeone's message to Lookman

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Atletico Madrid's UEFA Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, Simeone made clear he retains full confidence in Lookman and called on the forward not to let frustration take hold.
