Diego Simeone has pledged to do everything in his power to make Julian Alvarez feel valued at Atletico Madrid once the striker returns to training, as the standoff over his future at the Spanish club deepens.
Atletico Madrid have made their position unambiguous: Alvarez will not be sold to Barcelona. With that door firmly closed, a transfer to Arsenal is now considered the forward's most realistic route out of the club.
Simeone confirmed Alvarez would not travel for Saturday's La Liga fixture against Sevilla, citing health concerns. The Argentine forward has missed three consecutive training sessions and is not considered fit to feature.
