Sunderland Seal Loan Deal for Tottenham Defender Kevin Danso

Sunderland have agreed a season-long loan deal with Tottenham Hotspur for centre-back Kevin Danso, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
BBC Sport had reported on Friday that Spurs initially turned down a loan approach from the Black Cats for the 27-year-old Austrian international. However, the two clubs re-entered negotiations and have now reached an agreement that will take Danso to the Stadium of Light.
The breakthrough came after Tottenham confirmed the imminent arrival of Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, 28. Spurs had been reluctant to sanction Danso's departure without securing a defensive replacement first.
Danso originally joined Spurs on a temporary basis from Lens in January 2025, before the North London club made his transfer permanent for £20.9 million later that year.
