Nigeria's Super Eagles are set to kick off their preparations in Ikot Ikpene, Akwa Ibom, with their first training session on Tuesday, as the squad gears up for a crucial 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar in Uyo on Friday, September 25.

Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe confirmed on Monday night that the session will be partially open to the press, with journalists granted access to the opening 15 minutes of training.

Efoghe also announced that all players in camp will sit down with reporters for exclusive interviews on Wednesday at the team's base in Ikot Ikpene — giving fans and the media a closer look at the squad ahead of the opening qualifier.

A demanding double header

The Madagascar fixture marks the beginning of Nigeria's qualifying campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The Super Eagles will have little time to recover before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau on matchday 2, scheduled for Tuesday, September 29.

With back-to-back fixtures across just four days, the coaching staff will need to manage the squad's workload carefully as the qualification campaign gets under way.
