Super Eagles Goalkeeper Kayode Bankole Joins Tanzanian Side Gold Geita FC

Nigerian goalkeeper Kayode Bankole has sealed a free transfer to Tanzanian Premier League club Gold Geita FC, signing a one-year contract with the newly promoted side.
The 23-year-old arrives in Tanzania after departing South African Premier Soccer League outfit TS Galaxy, where he failed to make a single competitive appearance during his time at the club.
Bankole had originally joined TS Galaxy in 2025 following the expiry of his contract with Remo Stars, former champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League. His stint in South Africa ultimately proved fruitless, leaving him without competitive football for nearly a year.
A fresh start in East Africa
The move to Gold Geita FC offers Bankole a genuine opportunity to reignite his career. The Tanzanian club earned their place back in the top flight by winning the NBC Championship last season, securing promotion ahead of the current campaign.
Gold Geita FC are no strangers to continental football, having previously represented Tanzania in the CAF Confederation Cup during the 2022/23 season. Their return to the Tanzanian Premier League sets the stage for what could be an important chapter for both the club and their new signing.
For Bankole, the priority will be to establish himself as a regular starter and recapture the form that once made him one of Nigeria's promising young goalkeepers.
