Tanzania head coach Miguel Gamondi has revealed his 24-man squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Nigeria's Super Eagles.
Domestic clubs dominate the selection, with league champions Yanga FC and Azam FC each contributing five players to the group. Kagera Sugar and Singida Black Stars each have one representative in the squad.
Three foreign-based players have also earned call-ups. Novatus Miroshi, who plays for Goztepe in the Turkish Super Lig, is included alongside Cyprian Kachewele of Ukrainian side Kryvbas and Bernard Kamongo, who features for FC Dallas in MLS.
Taifa Stars looking to bounce back
The Taifa Stars head into these fixtures carrying the weight of a difficult start to the qualifying campaign. They fell to a 2-0 defeat against Guinea-Bissau in their opener and could manage only a 1-1 draw with Madagascar in their second match.
Gamondi's side will first travel to face Nigeria on matchday three, with the fixture scheduled for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, November 17. The return leg will take place in Dar es Salaam four days later, giving Tanzania the chance to push for points on home soil.
