Trabzonspor Eye Samuel Chukwueze as AC Milan Weigh Exit Options

Turkish club Trabzonspor are monitoring Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze, with reports suggesting they are prepared to spend around €15 million to secure his signature, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.

Back at San Siro after Fulham loan

Chukwueze returned to AC Milan this summer following a season-long loan at Premier League club Fulham. The Cottagers chose not to exercise their option to sign him outright, despite the Nigerian contributing three goals and four assists across 23 league appearances as Fulham finished comfortably in mid-table.

The 27-year-old's spell in England was intended to help him regain form after finding consistent first-team football difficult to come by at AC Milan since arriving from Villarreal for a reported €21.1 million in the summer of 2023.

Trabzonspor's approach

The Black Sea Storm are exploring both a direct purchase at approximately €15 million and an initial loan arrangement with a mandatory purchase clause at the conclusion of the deal. Their interest is driven by a desire to strengthen their attack ahead of the 2026/27 season, with Chukwueze's pace, creativity, and European top-flight experience making him an appealing target.

Struggles at AC Milan

Since joining the Rossoneri from La Liga side Villarreal, Chukwueze has struggled to nail down a starting berth in Milan, with inconsistent performances and fierce competition for wide positions limiting his opportunities. His loan to Fulham last term was a bid to reignite his career, but the Premier League club ultimately declined to make the arrangement permanent.

Although Chukwueze remains contracted to AC Milan, the Serie A club are understood to be receptive to offers as they reshape their squad for the coming campaign. A move to Trabzonspor could offer the former Villarreal man the regular first-team football he needs to restore his best form ahead of what promises to be a busy international calendar for Nigeria.
