Tzolis Sets Sights on Trophies After Completing £34 Million Arsenal Move
Christos Tzolis has made clear that lifting silverware is the driving force behind his move to Arsenal, after the Greek winger completed a £34 million transfer from Club Brugge on a five-year contract running until 2031.
The 24-year-old will wear the number 17 shirt at the Emirates Stadium, and wasted no time in spelling out his ambitions in his first words as an Arsenal player.
"My targets are to win titles, of course. I think for everybody the target is there, as many as possible," Tzolis told the club's official website. "And to have as much as possible game time with the team, then the rest will come, I'm sure about that."
Tzolis revealed he had studied Arsenal closely before making the switch, including the Champions League meeting between the two clubs last season — a tie that left a lasting impression on him.
"I love to watch football, I know everything about the Premier League, I know everything about Arsenal. I watched so many games this year and especially we played against each other. It was 0-3 in our stadium. I can say it was the most difficult team to attack against that I've played so far," he said.
The Greece international also set a personal milestone for his time in north London, expressing his desire to open his account at his new home ground.
"I'm very proud to be part of this amazing team. I'm looking forward to meeting everybody on the pitch, at the stadium, and to score my first goal at the Emirates," Tzolis added.
Tzolis arrives at Arsenal in strong form, having found the net 22 times for Club Brugge last season. Across his three previous campaigns at the Belgian club, he recorded 67 goals in total — a record that convinced Arsenal to make him a key part of their plans.
His immediate aim, he insists, is to bed into the squad and claim as much playing time as possible, confident that personal rewards will follow naturally once he is settled.
