Christantus Uche has pledged to fight his way back from what could be the most testing period of his football career, after suffering a serious knee injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for the entirety of the 2026/27 season.

The Nigeria international picked up the injury during Getafe's pre-season friendly against Ligue 1 club AS Monaco last week. Medical tests confirmed the severity of the damage, leaving the attacking midfielder facing a long road to recovery.
