Vinicius Jr Not Rushing Contract Renewal Talks With Real Madrid

Vinícius Júnior has made clear he sees no urgency in renewing his contract with Real Madrid, which runs until June 2027, insisting both parties remain composed about the situation.
Speaking to journalist Casimiro Miguel, the 25-year-old expressed deep pride in representing one of the club's captains at a young age, while reaffirming that Real Madrid remains the club of his dreams.
"I am not in a rush to renew my contract. I have a contract until 2027. So, until 2027, we have a great deal to discuss with Madrid, and Madrid has a great deal to discuss with us. Real Madrid is calm, and I am calm. The president trusts me, and I trust him. And that's all there is to it; we just have to wait and live each day, each moment, and enjoy the best club in the world."
A season of contributions but no trophies
Vinicius has now completed eight seasons at the Santiago Bernabéu. This past campaign, he registered 22 goals and 10 assists across all competitions — though Real Madrid ended the season without a major trophy for the second successive year, finishing second in La Liga, eight points adrift of rivals Barcelona.
The disappointment followed a report in November that Vinicius had told club president Florentino Perez he would not sign a new deal while former head coach Xabi Alonso remained in charge.
Perez wants Vinicius at the club for life
Despite the contract uncertainty, Florentino Perez has been unequivocal about his desire to retain the Brazilian superstar long-term.
"I'd love for Vini Jr to stay FOREVER. He's won us the last two Champions Leagues, and he identifies really well with the club. His renewal? There's time."
The public show of mutual trust from both player and president suggests any eventual renewal discussions will be conducted without pressure — though the clock on a deal expiring in 2027 will inevitably grow louder with each passing window.
