Former St Truiden head coach Wouter Vrancken is on the verge of being appointed as the new manager at Heart of Midlothian, according to multiple reports in the Scottish press.

The 47-year-old Belgian stepped down from St Truiden this summer after steering the club to third place in Belgium's Pro League, declaring he was ready for a fresh challenge. According to the Daily Record, Vrancken is now set to take charge at Tynecastle. The Hearts Standard adds that he was interviewed alongside former AZ Alkmaar manager Maarten Martens and Rene Hake, who has coaching experience at both Feyenoord and Manchester United.

Lyon circle Braga as Hearts brace for busy window

Lyon are in active discussions with Hearts over Portuguese forward Claudio Braga, with Tynecastle officials hopeful of securing around £8.6m for the 26-year-old, per Foot Mercato. The Edinburgh Evening News reports that Hearts will hold out for a fee of between £8m and £10m, noting that Lyon — who have seen Brazil forward Endrick return to Real Madrid following his loan spell — are among several clubs tracking Braga.

Hearts are also eyeing Zwolle striker Koen Kostons, with De Stentor reporting the Edinburgh club are prepared to pay approximately £1.3m for the 26-year-old, who joined Zwolle from Paderborn last summer. Meanwhile, defender Michael Steinwender is in discussions over a move to German second-tier side Bochum, with Hearts poised to turn a profit on the six-figure fee they paid Varnamo for the 26-year-old 18 months ago.

Rangers demand £20m for Raskin

Rangers are preparing to demand around £20m for midfielder Nicolas Raskin this summer, according to Football Insider. The 25-year-old Belgian has attracted interest from clubs in the Premier League, Serie A, and Super Lig. The Ibrox club are also reportedly close to re-signing Czech Republic winger Vaclav Cerny for approximately £5m, with the 28-year-old understood to be open to departing Besiktas.

Tottenham Hotspur have approved a further loan move for winger Mikey Moore, and TeamTalk reports that Rangers hope the 18-year-old will return to Ibrox, despite competition from Championship clubs and European sides.

Celtic, Hibs, and the rest of Scottish football

Celtic face a battle to sign Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder Ivan Basic, with Eintracht Frankfurt and Elche also pursuing the £2m-rated Astana 24-year-old, according to the Scottish Sun. The agent of left-back Marcelo Saracchi has confirmed that Celtic have made no approach for a permanent deal following his loan from Boca Juniors, though other clubs — including one in Scotland — have registered interest.

Middlesbrough have been linked with Hibernian midfielder Josh Mulligan, though Teesside Live suggests they are unlikely to formalise a bid as the 23-year-old is drawing interest from West Ham United and Southampton.

Scotland international Che Adams is among Venezia's summer targets, but Torino are holding out for more than the £3.5m offered by their Serie A rivals for the 29-year-old, per Sky Sports. Bolton Wanderers are in advanced talks to sign Liverpool midfielder Luca Stephenson, 22, after his loan stint at Dundee United. Bournemouth defenders Owen Bevan and Harold William are on trial with Dundee, while Sheffield Wednesday are weighing up a move to re-sign Callum Paterson after the 31-year-old's impressive season at MK Dons.
