Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion have jointly warned supporters that serious consequences await anyone who engages in disorder when the two clubs meet at Molineux on Sunday, their first Championship fixture against one another in five years.

In a statement released on Thursday, the clubs recalled the chaos that marred their FA Cup tie in 2024, when 43 people were arrested, 12 were charged and sentenced, and five received permanent club bans. At The Hawthorns two years ago, play was suspended for 38 minutes after police were assaulted, missiles were hurled, and flares were ignited.

What fans can expect on Sunday

Both clubs confirmed that Sunday's match, which kicks off at 12:00 BST, will feature enhanced stewarding, increased policing, stricter ticketing controls, and additional safety measures throughout the ground.

Supporters have been reminded that violence, discriminatory behaviour, pitch or trackside incursions, missile throwing, and the use of pyrotechnics all carry the risk of arrest, criminal prosecution, football banning orders, and long-term or permanent exclusion from their club.

Fans are also urged to purchase tickets exclusively through official channels and to occupy only their designated home or away sections. Anyone discovered in the wrong area faces ejection and potential further sanction.

Clubs call for responsible support

Wolves and West Brom say they have worked closely with the Safety Advisory Group, local authorities, and West Midlands Police to put appropriate arrangements in place. Supporters are asked to arrive early to allow time for security checks and to follow the instructions of stewards and police at all times.

Both clubs also encouraged fans to report any unsafe, discriminatory, or anti-social behaviour they witness inside the stadium.
