Nigerian clubs impress on both sides of the draw

Shooting Stars of Nigeria edged past Tunisia's CS Sfaxien 1-0 in a tight contest, while El Kanemi Warriors were more comfortable, dispatching Odeba 3-0 to book a strong position ahead of next week's decider.

Kitara eye Al Ahly showdown

Uganda's Kitara secured a valuable 2-1 away win over Mogadishu City, putting them in a strong position to advance — and a step closer to a potential second-round meeting with Al Ahly.

Other notable results

Angola's Primeiro de Agosto won 2-0 away to Green Mamba of Eswatini, while Togo's ASKO D'Kara romped to a 5-0 victory over AS ZAM of Niger. Red Arrows of Zambia beat FC Rouge of Madagascar 2-0, and Durban City of South Africa edged Rukinzo 1-0.

Ghana's Nations FC suffered a 1-0 defeat away to FC Diarra of Mali, and Kenya's Tusker drew 2-2 with Al-Ahli Madani in Sudan — results that leave both ties delicately balanced.

Match abandoned due to Ebola concerns

The preliminary round tie between DC Virunga of DR Congo and BTL Bazar of Seychelles was not played after BTL Bazar declined to travel due to concerns over an Ebola outbreak. The outcome of that fixture remains to be determined by CAF authorities.

Friday's matches saw SPSI of Chad draw 2-2 with CO Korhogo of Côte d'Ivoire, Esperance Sportive de Zarzis of Tunisia beat Club Diambars of Senegal 3-1, Panther FC of Cameroon draw 1-1 with Rayon Sport of Rwanda, Port Louis FC of Mauritius draw 1-1 with Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana, and Al-Hilal Al-Sahel of Sudan defeat Welwalo Adigrat of Ethiopia 2-1.

On Saturday, Atomic Ngomi of Comoros fell 1-0 to Black Bulls of Mozambique, AS Douanes of Mauritania drew 2-2 with Hafia FC of Guinea, Kabuscorp of Angola defeated UNAM of Namibia 2-0, and Real Bamako of Mali claimed a 2-1 win away to Vitesse of Burkina Faso. A.A. Amadou Diallo of Côte d'Ivoire drew 1-1 with East End Lions of Sierra Leone.
