Super Eagles Camp Builds Momentum With 17 Players Ahead of Zimbabwe Unity Cup Opener

Seventeen players have reported to the Super Eagles camp in London as Nigeria begin preparations for their Unity Cup opener against Zimbabwe, with more arrivals still expected in the coming days.
Head coach Éric Chelle opened camp on Saturday, welcoming an initial group of 14 players — including eight home-based stars — on the first day of the friendly invitational tournament build-up.
Three more players arrived on Sunday to bolster the squad: forward Rafiu Durosinmi, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, and centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu all checked in to join their teammates ahead of the Zimbabwe clash.
Ndidi, Simon, and others yet to arrive
Nine additional players are still expected in London, among them captain Wilfred Ndidi and experienced winger Moses Simon. Their arrivals will significantly strengthen Chelle's options as preparations intensify.
The Super Eagles conducted their first training session on Saturday at Cray Valley FC on Middle Park Avenue in London. A second session is scheduled for Sunday night at the same venue, with another session planned for Monday night as the squad steps up its work ahead of the tournament.
Title defence begins Tuesday at The Valley
Nigeria, three-time African champions, will face Zimbabwe in the first Unity Cup semi-final on Tuesday at The Valley — the home ground of Sky Bet Championship side Charlton Athletic. The Super Eagles enter the competition as defending champions.
Later in the week, Jamaica's Reggae Boys and India will contest the second semi-final at the same venue on Wednesday. The Valley will then host the tournament final on Saturday 30 May.
