Akor Adams Set for Venezia Medical Ahead of €17 Million Move

6 hours ago·1 min

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams is expected to travel to Venice on Tuesday to finalise his move to Serie A side Venezia, with a medical scheduled ahead of signing a long-term contract.

Venezia have secured an agreement with LaLiga club Sevilla for the Nigeria international's transfer. The deal is structured at an initial fee of €17 million, with performance-related add-ons that could push the total value to €23 million.

Adams, 26, only arrived at Sevilla in January 2025 from Ligue 1 outfit Montpellier, yet he made an immediate impression in Spain. He registered 10 goals and three assists across 32 league appearances for Los Rojiblancos in what proved to be his sole campaign at the club.

A financial lifeline for Sevilla

The transfer comes at a critical moment for Sevilla, who are in the midst of a wide-ranging sporting and financial restructuring. The fee received from Adams' sale is expected to unlock funds for new signings and alleviate pressure on the club's wage bill.

Adams' exit also opens space for reinforcements in attack — a position head coach Luis García Plaza and sporting director José Ignacio Navarro have identified as a priority. Sevilla are already scouting replacement targets across several leagues that align with their revised sporting strategy and financial framework.

For Adams, the move represents a fresh challenge at Venezia, who have returned to Serie A as newly promoted competitors eager to establish themselves in Italy's top flight.
