Al Hilal have secured the signature of Netherlands international winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham in a transfer worth up to £60m, with an initial fee of £55m and a further £5m available in add-ons.

The 24-year-old has committed to a four-year deal at the Saudi Pro League club, where he will link up with a squad that already includes Ruben Neves, Karim Benzema, and Theo Hernandez under head coach Simone Inzaghi.

West Ham's third-biggest sale

The transfer represents the third-largest fee West Ham have ever received for a player, behind Declan Rice's move to Arsenal and Mateus Fernandes' sale to Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the same transfer window.

Combined with the Fernandes deal, the Hammers — who were relegated to the Championship — will have raised more than £150m in player sales this summer once the Summerville transfer is finalised.

How the deal came together

Roma had been the frontrunners to land Summerville, but West Ham rejected the Italian club's offer of £39m on July 20. Manchester United also expressed interest, though their pursuit was stalled pending the sale of Marcus Rashford.

Al Hilal's late approach — first reported by Gianluca Di Marzio in Italy — came in at close to double Roma's initial bid and was swiftly accepted by West Ham.

A strong season and World Cup impact

Summerville made 34 appearances for West Ham during the 2025/26 season, contributing seven goals and five assists. He then carried that form onto the international stage, featuring in all four of the Netherlands' matches at the 2026 World Cup, where he scored two goals and set up two more.
