Ruben Amorim has publicly apologised to Manchester United supporters for going silent after his dismissal in January, admitting he made mistakes during his tenure and saying he was proud to have led the club.
The 41-year-old broke his months-long silence by signing a three-year contract with AC Milan, and was presented to the Italian media on Wednesday. In a 35-minute press conference, his time at United did not come up until the very last question.
By then, Amorim had already acknowledged that his spell at Old Trafford had not gone as hoped, and that the experience had sharpened his hunger to succeed.
