The 20-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk forward has emerged as a target according to Sport Witness, with TNT Sports also relaying Arsenal's reported interest. Valued at €30 million by Transfermarkt, Elias is described as a player whose physical profile draws comparisons to Kai Havertz rather than Gyokeres — making him a potentially complementary addition rather than a like-for-like replacement.

Gyokeres under pressure at the Emirates

Gyokeres arrived at Arsenal 12 months ago for a reported £55 million, filling the centre-forward role the club had long sought. The Sweden international had been prolific at Sporting, registering 97 goals in 102 appearances, but his debut Premier League season drew sharp criticism.

Although he scored 21 goals across all competitions, Gyokeres struggled to impose himself against the division's stronger sides, failing to score against all but two of last season's top-10 Premier League clubs. Questions also arose over his ability to hold up the ball and link play — areas where Havertz had previously excelled.

Arsenal's focus in the attacking market centres on Alvarez following their unsuccessful attempt to sign Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr. Should Alvarez arrive and operate on the left, Arteta's system would benefit from a more conventional target man alongside him — a profile Gyokeres has struggled to fulfil.
