The Premier League has revealed the four nominees for its August Manager of the Month award: Mikel Arteta of Arsenal, Xabi Alonso of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca of Manchester City, and Sergej Jakirovic of Hull City.

Alonso's perfect start at Chelsea

Alonso began his Chelsea tenure with back-to-back victories, claiming a 100 percent record from his first two league outings. His new-look forward line — Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Morgan Rogers — has been relentless, combining for five goals and four assists.

The Blues dismantled Fulham with three goals before routing Brighton & Hove Albion 4-0, and already carry the look of a side that will be difficult to stop.

Arteta's Arsenal remain airtight

Arsenal, the reigning champions, have been similarly ruthless under Arteta. They defeated Coventry City by three goals and edged Aston Villa — last season's fourth-placed side — by a single goal, keeping a clean sheet in both matches.

Perhaps even more striking is their defensive solidity: the Gunners have yet to concede and have limited Premier League opponents to just one shot on target all campaign — against Coventry in the opening game.

Maresca's tactical composure at Manchester City

Tasked with succeeding Pep Guardiola, Maresca has opened with two wins. His composure in the dugout was evident when Manchester City appeared set to lose to AFC Bournemouth — a series of substitutions, including Rayan Cherki, turned the game on its head. Cherki laid on both goals, scored in the 84th minute and first minute of stoppage time, to seal a comeback win.

Manchester City then posted a commanding 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace, with Cherki and Erling Haaland each finding the net twice in a display of clinical dominance.

Hull City's remarkable rise

Newly promoted Hull City have made an extraordinary impression. Jakirovic guided his side to a stunning opening-day win over Manchester United before grinding out a late winner against Coventry in a battle of the promoted clubs.

Organised, determined, and yet to concede a goal, Hull City's defence has been central to their results. Goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis has also earned a nomination for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award as a result of his performances.

Supporters can cast their vote for the Manager of the Month until 12:00 BST on Monday, 7 September. The fans' votes will be combined with those of a panel of football experts, and the winner will be announced on Friday, 11 September.
