Aston Villa Eye Adarabioyo and Tomori to Fill Konsa Void

Aston Villa are targeting Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo and AC Milan centre-back Fikayo Tomori as they seek a replacement for Ezri Konsa, who is on the verge of joining Arsenal, according to talkSPORT.

Konsa is closing in on a move to the Gunners, with the two Premier League clubs having agreed a deal in principle worth more than £50 million. The England centre-back is expected to undergo a medical with Arsenal on Thursday ahead of completing the transfer.

Adarabioyo's uncertain future at Chelsea

Tosin, 28, has emerged as one of Villa's primary targets following a difficult period at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea stripped him of his No.4 squad number, reassigning it to new arrival Valentin Barco, leaving Tosin with the No.38 shirt for the coming season.

The former Fulham man joined Chelsea on a free transfer in 2024 after leaving the Cottagers, and has fewer than two years remaining on his current contract. Last season, hamstring and calf injuries limited him to 16 Premier League appearances. Benfica had also expressed interest in the former England youth international this summer.

Tomori available after entering final year at AC Milan

Villa are also weighing up a move for Tomori, who has been placed on the transfer list by AC Milan after entering the final year of his contract at the San Siro. The Chelsea academy graduate moved to the Italian club on a permanent basis in 2021 after impressing on loan, and has since collected a Serie A title and an Italian Super Cup.

Tomori has earned six senior caps for England and made 17 Premier League appearances for Chelsea before his departure to Milan.

Emery's defensive options stretched thin

Securing a new centre-back has become a priority for manager Unai Emery, with Konsa's exit set to leave Villa with a thin defensive unit. Among the recognised central defenders currently available to Emery are Pau Torres, Victor Lindelof, and Tyrone Mings — a pool that leaves the club exposed without further reinforcement.
