Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign winger Alejandro Garnacho on a loan deal that carries a conditional obligation to buy, understood to be easily achievable.

The total package — covering both the loan fee and the prospective permanent transfer — is reported to meet Chelsea's asking price. Sky Sports News had previously reported that Chelsea were seeking £42.6 million for the Argentine winger.

Garnacho arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer, joining Chelsea from Manchester United in a £40 million move. However, the 21-year-old did not report for Chelsea's pre-season training this summer, a decision that effectively signalled his desire to secure a transfer away from the club.

The move to Villa Park would reunite Garnacho with top-flight English football under a fresh environment, as Aston Villa look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
