Barcelona's Rodri Bid Rejected as City Hold Firm at £60m

Manchester City have turned down a £55 million offer from Barcelona for midfielder Rodri, with the Premier League champions demanding a fee in excess of £60 million for the 30-year-old Spain international. Negotiations between the two clubs are continuing.

In a separate development, Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, 28, is poised to depart the Etihad Stadium after agreeing a £52 million switch to Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah.

Spurs defender bound for Inter Milan

Tottenham's England right-back Djed Spence, 26, is on the brink of completing a move to Inter Milan. The deal, reported to be worth 30 million euros (£25.6 million) plus 5 million euros in add-ons, will see Spence undergo a medical in Italy.

Arsenal blocked in Pubill pursuit

Arsenal made an approach to sign Spain defender Marc Pubill, only for Atletico Madrid to shut down any potential agreement — the 23-year-old has been declared unavailable.

Ipswich Town are determined to bring in Germany striker Derry Scherhant, 23, from Freiburg this summer, though a 20 million euro (£17 million) offer they submitted for Bayer Leverkusen's Argentina midfielder Exequiel Palacios, 27, has been rejected by the German club.

More transfers in focus

Napoli face a decision over Italy striker Lorenzo Lucca, 25, before they can open discussions with Arsenal about landing Gabriel Jesus, 29, from Brazil.

AC Milan manager Ruben Amorim has informed eight players — among them England defender Fikayo Tomori, 28, and France forward Christopher Nkunku, 28 — that they no longer figure in his plans at the San Siro.

Genoa are exploring the possibility of taking Republic of Ireland striker Evan Ferguson, 21, on loan from Brighton, while West Ham United are confident of sealing a deal with Celtic for Belgium midfielder Arne Engels, 22.
