PSG Agree Principle Deal to Sign Barcelona Forward Ferran Torres

Paris St-Germain are closing in on the signing of Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, with the two clubs having reached an agreement in principle on a deal worth approximately 50 million euros (£42.7m).
Torres, 26, was granted permission to skip training this week as he worked to finalise the transfer, underlining how far advanced negotiations have become.
A summer of highs for Torres
Torres arrives at PSG off the back of an outstanding season. He netted 21 goals and contributed three assists across 49 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona, helping the Catalan club lift the La Liga title.
His summer was crowned with a defining moment on the international stage — Torres scored the extra-time winner against Argentina that sealed Spain's second men's World Cup triumph. That goal alone has significantly elevated his profile ahead of this transfer.
In total, Torres has scored 25 goals in 65 appearances for Spain.
PSG's busy summer window
Should the deal be completed, Torres would become the second prominent forward PSG have brought in this summer, following the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco.
Manager Luis Enrique — who enjoyed a distinguished career as both a player and coach at Barcelona — could also be set to lose Bradley Barcola, with Liverpool reportedly interested in the French winger.
PSG came into this transfer window on a wave of momentum, having claimed the UEFA Champions League in each of the past two seasons. They added another trophy to their haul on Wednesday, defeating Aston Villa 2-1 to lift the UEFA Super Cup.
Torres' path to Paris
Torres has been a Barcelona player since 2022, when he joined from Manchester City, where he had spent two years after coming through the ranks in Spain. If this move is confirmed, it will mark another significant chapter in a career that continues to gather pace at the highest level.
