BBC to Broadcast 38 Live Serie A Matches This Season

BBC ALBA and BBC Sport have secured a package deal to broadcast 38 live Serie A matches across the current Italian football season, covering one fixture per round of league action.
Coverage kicks off this Sunday with Atalanta hosting Sassuolo — available on BBC ALBA and BBC iPlayer from 19:35 BST. BBC ALBA will air 19 of those matches with Gaelic and English co-commentary, while BBC Sport's iPlayer platform will stream the remaining 19 with English-only commentary.
Scottish stars to watch
The deal carries particular appeal for Scottish football supporters, with a strong contingent of Scottish internationals plying their trade in Serie A. Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay remains the headline act, while his club-mate Billy Gilmour — returning from the knee injury that ruled him out of the World Cup — will be hoping for a bigger role under new manager Massimiliano Allegri.
Former Hibernian pair Kieron Bowie and Josh Doig are part of the Sassuolo setup and will travel to Bergamo for Sunday's opener. Torino striker Che Adams, Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson — a Coppa Italia winner in 2025 and heading into his fifth season at the club — and Udinese teenager Lennon Miller complete the Scottish contingent in Italy's top flight.
English talent in the mix
England internationals also feature prominently. Djed Spence and John Stones both joined reigning champions Inter Milan during the summer transfer window. AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, as well as new Cagliari arrival Harry Winks, have all represented the England national side.
The Serie A agreement broadens BBC Sport's European football coverage, which already includes Bundesliga and La Liga highlights packages.
