Brighton Eye Nigeria Winger Femi Azeez in Summer Swoop

2 hours ago·1 min

Brighton & Hove Albion are weighing up a summer move for Millwall forward Femi Azeez, according to the BBC, as the Premier League club assess their options ahead of the transfer window's close.

The Seagulls' interest in Azeez is understood to be tied to uncertainty around Amario Cozier-Duberry, who has attracted attention from Scottish Premiership club Rangers. Should Cozier-Duberry depart, Brighton appear ready to move for the 25-year-old Nigeria international as a replacement.

Azeez is reported to be available for the right price this summer, with his club Millwall accepting that the forward is likely to move on from the Championship.

A standout season at Millwall

The versatile forward delivered one of his most productive campaigns last season, registering 11 goals and eight assists across 34 appearances for Millwall. His consistent form throughout the year kept Brighton's scouts watching closely.

Azeez also caught the eye on the international stage, earning a debut cap for Nigeria at the Unity Cup in London in May — a display that only added to his growing reputation.

A step up to the top flight

If Brighton complete a deal, Azeez would make the jump from the Championship to the Premier League — a significant step for a player who has steadily raised his profile over the past season. Hull City have also been reported to be interested in the forward, meaning Brighton face competition if they decide to press ahead.
