CAF President Patrice Motsepe Mourns the Passing of Jayden Adams

The Confédération Africaine de Football has expressed profound grief following the death of Jayden Adams, a South Africa international and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder who was 25 years old.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the South African Football Association, its President Dr Danny Jordaan, Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club, and the family of Adams.
Adams had established himself as a key figure for Bafana Bafana, featuring for the national side during the FIFA World Cup 2026. At club level, he was part of the Mamelodi Sundowns squad that claimed the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2026 title in Rabat, a historic achievement for South African football.
Before earning his move to Mamelodi Sundowns, Adams made his name at Stellenbosch FC, where his performances earned him a place in the Bafana Bafana setup and eventually a regular starting role for his country.
Dr Motsepe's message was issued on behalf of CAF and all 54 of its Member Associations, reflecting the scale of mourning felt across the continent for a player whose career had only begun to reach its full promise.
May Jayden Adams rest in peace.
