Brighton & Hove Albion manager Fabian Hurzeler has indicated that winger Yankuba Minteh could yet secure the high-profile move he craves — but only after committing fully to the Seagulls first.

Liverpool had two bids rejected by Brighton during the summer transfer window — an initial offer of £50m and a follow-up of £60m — as Brighton held firm in their valuation of around £70m for the 22-year-old Gambia international. Manager Andoni Iraola had identified Minteh as a key target to strengthen Liverpool's attacking unit.

Hurzeler backs Minteh to shine again

Speaking ahead of Saturday's Premier League fixture against Leeds United, Hurzeler made clear that Minteh's opportunity had not passed.
