CAF Reveals Draw Procedures for Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Senegal 2026

1 hour ago·2 min

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has outlined the procedures for the Final Draw of the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations Senegal 2026, scheduled to take place at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday, 4 November 2026 at 16h00 Cairo time (14h00 GMT). The event will be broadcast live on CAF TV.

Eight nations have secured their places at the tournament, which Senegal will host from 28 November to 6 December 2026. The draw will determine how the eight teams are split into two groups of four.

The eight qualified teams

Angola, Ghana, Malawi, Mauritania, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, and Uganda are the eight nations set to compete in the continental showpiece.

Seeding and pot allocation

Under CAF regulations, the host nation leads Group A and the defending champions head Group B. Because Senegal are both hosts and defending champions, they are automatically placed at position A1. Mauritania, runners-up at the 2024 edition, will occupy position B1.

The remaining six teams have been divided into three pots, determined by CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations rankings across the last three editions of the competition:

Pot 1: Morocco, Mozambique

Pot 2: Malawi, Uganda

Pot 3: Ghana, Angola

How the draw works

The draw will proceed from Pot 3 through to Pot 1. The first team drawn from each pot goes into Group A, while the second goes into Group B. This process repeats until all eight positions across the two groups are filled.

Group stage and knockout format

Each team will play three group-stage matches. The top two sides from each group advance to the semi-finals, where the Group A winner faces the Group B runner-up, and the Group B winner takes on the Group A runner-up.

The two semi-final losers will contest a third-place play-off, while the winners meet in the final to be crowned champions of Africa.
