A senior CAF delegation has completed an eight-day tour of critical infrastructure across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania as the three-nation host prepares to stage the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda (PAMOJA) 2027.

The inspection party included officials from CAF's Competitions, Safety and Security, Transport, Marketing, Media, Television, and Logistics departments, working in close coordination with government representatives and the Local Organising Committees (LOCs) from each host country.

Stadiums and host city facilities assessed

In Kenya, the delegation examined the newly built Talanta Stadium — a 60,000-capacity venue — alongside training grounds, hotels designated for teams and match officials, airport facilities, and wider tournament infrastructure in Nairobi.

The tour then moved to Uganda and Tanzania, where officials evaluated the readiness of stadiums, hotels, training sites, and airports. Key venues assessed included the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala and the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Observers gain first-hand experience in Morocco

Representatives from the LOCs also participated in a CAF-led observer mission at the recent TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where they gained direct insight into stadium operations, security protocols, media management, and matchday delivery at a live major tournament.

Building on CHAN 2024 experience

The three host nations bring meaningful joint-hosting experience to the table, having successfully shared duties at the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024. That foundation is expected to strengthen their preparations as they ready East Africa to welcome the continent — and the world — in 2027.

The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027 marks the tournament's return to East Africa for the first time in more than five decades, with the competition scheduled to run from 19 June to 17 July 2027. CAF's technical inspections and engagements with the three host nations are ongoing as part of a broader assessment programme.
