Calvert-Lewin Close to Signing New Leeds United Deal

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is poised to commit his future to Leeds United by signing a new contract at Elland Road, dealing a blow to Manchester United's January transfer plans.
The 29-year-old striker joined Leeds on a free transfer from Everton and has since contributed 20 goals in 49 appearances for the club, whose current deal with him runs until 2028.
Manchester United left to look elsewhere
The news is a setback for Manchester United, who have been monitoring Calvert-Lewin as a potential January signing. The Old Trafford club are in the market for a forward after Benjamin Sesko was ruled out for an extended spell due to a shin injury.
With Calvert-Lewin now set to remain at Elland Road, Manchester United will need to turn their attention to other targets ahead of the winter window.
Back in England contention
Calvert-Lewin's strong form has also earned him a return to the England national team. Manager Thomas Tuchel recalled him to the squad in March, and although Calvert-Lewin missed out on World Cup selection, he featured in England's most recent Nations League campaign.
He earned his 14th international cap on 6 October, appearing in the 3-0 win over the Czech Republic.
