Celtic have broken their own transfer record by securing the signature of striker Kasper Hogh from Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt for £11m plus potential add-ons.

The Denmark international, aged 25, was the club's top priority in the forward position this summer. He has penned a four-year contract at Parkhead, with Celtic retaining an option to extend the arrangement by a further 12 months.

A striker who proved himself in Europe

Hogh arrives at Celtic carrying impressive credentials — 53 goals across 102 appearances for Bodo/Glimt. He played a central role in the Norwegian club's memorable UEFA Champions League campaign last season, which ended in the last 16.

Celtic had first registered their interest in January, but Hogh chose to honour his commitment to Bodo/Glimt's European run. He underlined his quality during that period with a goal in a famous victory away at Atletico Madrid.

Maeda heads to England after Celtic trophy haul

Hogh's arrival coincides with the departure of Daizen Maeda, who has joined newly-promoted Premier League club Ipswich Town on a three-year deal.

Maeda leaves Celtic having amassed 79 goals and collected five Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups, and two League Cups during his time at the club. After enduring a difficult spell last season, he rediscovered his sharpness at the crucial moment — netting nine goals in the final seven matches as Celtic sealed a league and cup double.

The Japanese forward had made clear his ambition to play in the Premier League once the season concluded. His move to Ipswich follows a strong showing at the FIFA World Cup 2026, where he scored for Japan as they advanced to the last 32 before being eliminated by Brazil.
