Meanwhile, the Glasgow side are closing in on a deal for Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis. The Lithuania international featured in Torino's Coppa Italia defeat to Monza on Tuesday, and journalist Anthony Joseph reports that an agreement is near.
Three loan deals in the pipeline
Celtic have already wrapped up a season-long loan for 18-year-old Chelsea striker Shim Mheuka, with transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirming the deal. The club also hope to finalise a second Chelsea loan — this time for left-back Landon Emenalo, also 18 — according to Sky Sports.
In addition, Celtic have agreed a season-long loan with Wolverhampton Wanderers for former England goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, TeamTalk reports. Johnstone adds experienced cover between the posts as Celtic prepare for another campaign on multiple fronts.
Rangers duo attract interest
Across the city, Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin could be on the move, with Rangers Review reporting that a transfer to Turkey or the Saudi Pro League remains a possibility if a suitable bid is tabled. There is also reported interest from Norway in Raskin's Ibrox team-mate Thelo Aasgaard.
