Belgian Pro League champions Club Brugge have bid farewell to Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika following his permanent transfer to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

The move was confirmed on Sunday, drawing a close to what proved a highly productive four-year chapter at the Belgian club. In a statement on their official website, Club Brugge wrote:

"After four seasons at Blauw-Zwart, Raphael is now making the move to Eintracht Frankfurt. Good luck, Rapha!"

A five-year commitment in Germany

Onyedika has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Eintracht Frankfurt, the former UEFA Europa League champions. The 25-year-old arrives at the Bundesliga club with a strong pedigree built across Belgium and, before that, Denmark.

He originally joined Club Brugge from FC Midtjylland in the summer of 2022 and quickly established himself as a cornerstone of the team's midfield. The defensive midfielder accumulated 183 appearances across all competitions during his time in Belgium, contributing nine goals and five assists.

A trophy-laden spell at Blauw-Zwart

Onyedika departs Bruges with an enviable medal collection. During his four seasons, he won two Belgian Pro League titles, one Belgian Cup, and one Belgian Super Cup — a haul that underlines the club's domestic dominance throughout his tenure.

His move to Eintracht Frankfurt represents a significant step up for the Nigeria international, as he prepares to test himself in one of Europe's most competitive leagues.
