El-Kanemi Warriors made a dominant statement in the CAF Confederation Cup, beating Guinea-Bissau's UDIB 3-0 in the first leg of their first preliminary round at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Sunday.

The opening half was an even affair, with both sides creating opportunities but failing to convert before the break. El-Kanemi Warriors finally broke through in the 52nd minute when Nnamdi Mejuobi struck to put the hosts in front.

Mejuobi was not finished there. Just four minutes later, he stepped up to the penalty spot and converted with composure, doubling his side's advantage and effectively taking control of the tie.

Dayo Wahab put the result beyond any doubt with a third goal two minutes from full time, rounding off a commanding performance that leaves El-Kanemi Warriors in an excellent position heading into next weekend's return leg in Guinea-Bissau.

With a 3-0 cushion, El-Kanemi Warriors are firmly on course to advance to the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
