Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed the signing of Nigeria winger Femi Azeez from Millwall on a four-year contract, with the transfer fee remaining undisclosed.

Sporting director Mike Cave made clear how pleased the club are to have landed one of the Championship's standout performers. "We are delighted to add Femi to the squad," Cave told Brighton's official website. "He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs."

A journey through the football pyramid

Azeez's arrival at the Amex marks the culmination of an extraordinary climb through the English football ladder. The 25-year-old passed through Watford's academy before dropping into non-league football, representing Northwood, Wealdstone, and Hanwell Town.

He secured a move to Reading in 2019 and rebuilt his career there before joining Millwall in 2024, where his form catapulted him into the spotlight. Over 77 appearances for the Lions across all competitions, he registered 15 goals and 13 assists.

That outstanding 2025/26 campaign earned him recognition in both the PFA and EFL Championship Teams of the Season — a testament to how far he has come.

Super Eagles debut sets the tone

Azeez has wasted no time making his mark on the international stage either. He scored twice on his Super Eagles debut against Zimbabwe's Warriors in May, announcing himself as a player Nigeria fans will be watching closely for years to come.
